Dear Midwest Flight Attendants,
We have been anxiously awaiting a ruling on our Section 1 arbitration that was heard in November 2009. Today, Arbitrator Fred Horowitz handed down his ruling and he ruled in our favor. This is a victory for all Midwest Flight Attendants whose careers were stripped by corporate greed.
So what does this mean for all of you? Now that the arbitrator has ruled, a
remedy must be reached. At AFA’s request the arbitrator left the task of
negotiating a settlement to AFA and management representatives. We will be
scheduling negotiations in the near future and we will continue to keep you
updated on the progress of these talks. The final grievance award is posted
below.
I would like to say a special thank you to our AFA attorneys, officers, and staff who continue to fight for all of us and our livelihoods.
Please feel free to call Cat Reed, Joey Krajewski, or myself if you have any questions.
